The reason you don't find the truth horrifying is because you have never dealt with it.
The fascinating thing, of course, is that you dabble around the edges of truth, and say true things...like "If you find Truth horrifying, God "himself" becomes a kind a terrorist." and "Little wonder you have so little interest in Truth if it visits horror upon you."
These are true statements, but you don't understand how. You will know horror when the truth is revealed to you, as it is revealed to us all, in our turn. It is the horror of truth that, indeed, is why so many have so little interest in it...including you. That horror must be confronted and overcome, and it will be, by everyone, each in is own turn...the reason for the flaming swords.
But, of course, because you have yet to be confronted by truth, you then go on to say things like this:

...which, while also true, is no worse than anything you or I are guilty of. To pretend otherwise is to demonstrate that one has not been made to face the truth. You pass judgment and condemn...and fail to understand that you will be judged in like manner (and it will be good for you.)
When it's your time, your eyes will be opened, and you will see.
No, the magnitude of the "the wrong" makes no difference in the comparison you're trying to draw.
"Illegal immigrants shouldn't be here."

Yes, the magnitude of wrong DOES matter...just not in the comparison you were trying to draw to fool the gullible.
Oh, and "venial" and "mortal" sins and the distinction thereof is just pagan superstition, masquerading as "christian", when it is anything but, and has nothing whatsoever to do with God.
I'm not a "right-winger", not a "Republican", so I'm not sure who you're referring to. You, however, are a Leftist, and it is Leftism which says "words mean what we say they mean" (see: Orwell; Animal Farm)
Here's the hard truth that Leftists can't grasp (or they wouldn't be Leftists): just because you claim to be something, doesn't mean you are. And just because you claim to NOT be something, doesn't mean you aren't.
