    Perfection is an obsession that afflicts "conservatives" far more often than liberals or progressives.
    
    Indeed, a strong argument can be made that conservatives are fundamentally opposed to liberals' toleration of imperfection.
    
    Consequently, conservatives see indulgence, compassion, forgiveness and mercy as cause for contempt.
